Sultana Downrigging 2024

The Chesapeake Heartland Project collaborates with Washington College and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. The exhibit’s main theme for Downrigging Weekend is “Blacks on Water.” It will explore how Blacks worked, competed in sports, and socialized on the water. Other exhibits will explore the history of African American culture in Kent County, MD.
